I feel I must dedicate more time to the recording process. I've been working on this album for the past couple of years; that's much too long to just slap things together in the studio now, just to meet a deadline. I will do my best to get the album together as fast as possible, but I will take all the time I need in order to make sure I'm pleased with the final outcome of things. I will keep everyone posted on my progress, and as I begin to reach completion, then shall I determine an official release date. Enjoy the music! 07.15.08 About three years later, Blindside is finally finished and is set to release tomorrow through SNOCAP. You can visit my MySpace page to purchase the EP, as well as the H. B. Cstudios home page. The production of Torn Good)(Evil is now in progress. I'll keep everyone posted on the recording process. 07.04.08 Well, the only thing left to record are a couple of vocal tracks, but my voice is just not cooperating with me today. I'm a little behind schedule. I was hoping to get the EP done by today, but I'd much rather take my time to make the final product as tempered as possible. Hopefully I'll have it ready in the next couple of days. 07.02.08 The store has been relocated to www.zazzle.com/hbcstudios. I only updated a few products, but other than that, everything is back to normal. 06.30.08 Well, I still need to get a couple of guitar tracks down. Once that's over with, I just need to lay down the vocal tracks for the rest of the EP. I had to finish up a few paintings for an online art show over the weekend, you can check them out at the Cstudio, under Toy Design. With that out of the way and all my homework done for the semester, I should be able to release the EP by this Friday. After that, I'm set to begin recording Torn Good)(Evil. Here's to hope that everything goes according to plan. Cheers! 06.17.08 I finished recording the first song off the EP, "Neophobic Nomad." This song has always been a personal favorite of mine, so I enjoyed recording it. I used to perform this song live without any instruments, but I dubbed in a guitar track for the recording. I feel like the guitar gives the entire song a lot more energy, and helps fill the atmosphere. You can check it out on MySpace, but to be honest, you won't be getting the full effect due to the loss of data over the MySpace server. Even at 128kbps the song sounds descent on my end, but there always seems to be clipping and technical issues with my music once it's up on MySpace. Now that I've got my new technique down, hopefully I'll be able to lay down the next few tracks a lot faster. It took me so long to record this one because I would record something, then mix it, record it, mix it. I should probably try to just get all the recordings down first, but sometimes what may sound like an unworthy take, sounds just right under certain effects, and vice versa. Sometimes when I thought I nailed something, turns out the take just didn't go well with that part of the track's FX stream. This is the first time I've actually recorded with FL studio, as opposed to using Acid Pro back in 2005. The process is so much easier, faster, and the overall product just sounds better. Well, that's all for now. More updates soon! 06.13.08 I've replaced the "Artwork" section of the website with "The Cstudio." I've decided to sum up everything I do into one solid entity, which I've labeled as H. B. Cstudios - "Cstudios" is pronounced, studios. This is to help fight the confusion between the band Harry's Bronze Coffin, and H. B. Coffin the artist. Everything that comes out of the Cstudio will be by my hand. If it's not music, it'll probably be accredited to H. B. Coffin. As a musician, and to further help fight confusion, I will take credit under my real name. Now that I've got that out of the way, I plan to start recording "Blindside" this weekend. I must make haste so that I can get started on recording the tracks for "Torn Good)(Evil." It's been a while since I've done this, so it'll take a while to get things started, but I'll manage to keep a steady pace once I get the ball rolling. I've set a release date for 08.08.08. This is strictly going to be an online release through SNOCAP, an online music provider which you're probably already aware of. The album is set to have 16 tracks, and on top of that, there will be two versions of which you may purchase; "Torn Good)(Evil" - Master Mix, and "Torn Good)(Evil" - The Premixes. The Premixes edition will consist of nothing more than a hard copy of each back track, while the Master Mix will hold the final mix with vocals and guitar. Wait, there's more! Before you see any of these tracks for sale, you should able to purchase the "Blindside" EP, if the recording process goes according to plan. That's a total of 38 tracks to look forward to!
