Pushing for a Purpose

I wonder if they can hear me sing
I'm trying to contact the dead
I know this isn't my time,
but can you help me find the answer to the question I don't know?
where is the answer, what is the answer?
is there an answer? was there ever a question?
what do we know? or was it "what don't we know?" I think we may have just forgotten
shall we damn the angels or praise infinity?
perhaps we're angels waiting to hatch
or was it always a child waiting to breath?
I am looking to spiritually advance
I am thirsty, looking for my glass and I don't remember if it's half empty or half full
but my mouth is dry, I can't survive like this
how can I learn to make the glass refill itself
I know I need help, and I want to learn to help myself
maybe then, and only then can I help the rest of the world
a selfish seed I tend to be, and this world fails to surprise me
oh my greed for a reason to be
or at least a clue as to why I exist on this physical plane we all can't seem to resist
on terms of desire we're here to find the bliss we once saw in what was once that old run down theatre we used to attend as children
oh the vibe in which it gave, it soon became a very dark place
yet the voices promised us God's protection
they harmonized softly in a death cab progression
I took their word as to learn a lesson
in the hands of God,
that boy we all once knew
it's a small world after all
haven't I seen you before?
maybe in another life
