people seem to get caught up on one side of things
politics, drugs and sex are only three of the many
thousands of people need their drugs but only few are diabetic
and out of the millions who have sex, who's willing to commit?

I almost forgot the devil's side of things
there, the birds and bees look more like crows and fleas
the forests are dark full of ugly trees
but everyone still seems so happy

how can I forget that old selfish me?
now I only visit the maleficent realm in my dreams
and I'll tell you one thing, the last thing you'll see on my face is a smile
when I'm looking in the faces of every single corrupt child
that is, over half the population of Americans today
the land of the free, the land of haunted dreams
haunted by the devil's side of things
